Therapeutic Riding Improves Your Mind, Body, and Soul
At FHTRC, we help individuals of all ages and abilities see unique benefits through our adaptive riding program. Led by PATH.Intl certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors, our sessions can help you improve your flexibility, balance, and muscle strength, while increasing your confidence, patience, and self-esteem. Riders as young as 4 can also see improvements in their reading, math, and science skills, as well as greater focus and listening.
Register for Classes
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to the number of participants in the program and available class times. FHTRC currently has a waiting list for new riders. This waiting list could be 6-12 months, depending on a rider’s needs and schedule availability.
Join the Waiting List
Riders are added to our waiting list when we receive a completed application and can schedule a new rider evaluation. Registration forms can be downloaded and mailed or emailed to FHTRC.
The Application includes a form that must be filled out by your doctor. This doctor’s form MUST be signed by the applicant’s doctor, or you will be unable to ride. Please note that our current weight limit for mounted sessions is 200 pounds. Review our Participant handbook for further details. Once the packet is complete, we will have the rider come in for a short evaluation to determine if our program will be beneficial for them.
Riders come off the waiting list based on openings in our schedule, horse, instructor, and volunteer availability.
Adaptive Riding Class Structure
Our program runs in 8-week sessions, with one half-hour ride per week. We offer classes Monday – Thursday from 10am – 6pm. The cost of classes is based on a sliding scale fee noted in the Client Application.

Fall Session 2026

Client Fees
FHTRC is committed to providing a quality experience at an affordable rate. The majority of incurred expenses are financed through private donations, grants, and fundraisers. Unlike many other programs that hold large group sessions, the majority of our sessions are held in private classes to ensure the client gets the most benefit from their session. While doing it this way does cost more per hour, we find that the benefits outweigh the costs. This also allows us to tailor the content of each lesson to each client’s needs.
We charge a sliding scale fee for each individual session. If this payment does not fit your budget, please let us know that you need a scholarship. FHTRC will do our best to provide a partial or full scholarship as needed. We never want to turn anyone away from our program because of their financial situation. Please note that we have a separate waiting list for scholarship clients, based on sponsorship funding availability.
