Registration for Classes

Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis based on the number of participants in the program and if there is an available class time. FHTRC currently has a waiting list for new riders. Riders are added to our waiting list when we receive a completed application, and are able to schedule a new rider evaluation.  Registration forms can be downloaded and mailed or emailed to FHTRC.

Riders come off of the waiting list based on openings in our schedule, horse, instructor and volunteer availability.

Our program runs in 8-week sessions consisting of one ride per week for one half hour.  We offer classes Monday – Thursday from 10am – 6pm.  The cost of classes  is based on a sliding scale fee noted in the Client Application.

The typical process for a new rider is to first complete the  Client Application and review our Participant Handbook.  The Application includes a form that must be filled out by the clients doctor. This doctors’ form MUST be signed by the applicants doctor, or they will be unable to ride. Once the packet is complete we will have the rider come in for a short evaluation to determine if our program will be beneficial for them.  If approved, we will set up a class time for them to ride.

Client  Fees

FHTRC is committed to providing a quality experience at an affordable rate. The majority of incurred expenses are financed through private donations, grants and fundraisers. Unlike many other programs that do large group sessions, the majority of our sessions are done in private classes, to assure that the client gets the most benefit from their session. While doing it this way does cost more per hour, we find that the benefits outweigh the costs. This also allows us to adjust the content of each lesson based on the need of each client.

We charge on a sliding scale fee for each individual session. If this payment does not fit into your budget please let us know that you are in need of a scholarship. FHTRC will do our best to provide a partial or full scholarship as need arises. We never want to turn anyone away from our program because of their financial situation. Please note that we do have a separate waiting list for scholarship clients, based on availability of sponsorship funding.

For questions regarding payment options and scholarships please contact us at 316-733-8943 or paige@fhtrc.org.
